Health

In the United States, nearly one-third of adults with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma reported that they had not filled a prescription, skipped a recommended medical test, or not seen a doctor when they were sick due to cost. Cancer care can range between $10,000 and $200,000 per year. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology in 2018 found that cancer patients who filed for bankruptcy had a 79% higher risk of mortality compared to those who did not file for bankruptcy.
